Upgrade MariaDB 5.5. to MariaDB 10.0.16 in Ubuntu 12.0.4

I’d been a little bit busy working MariaDB lately… deploying database in cloud since our company is gearing towards open source.

We’d been using MariaDB 5.5 for a while now and need to upgrade to #MariaDB 10

1. Login to your server and stop MariaDB. Don’t forget to create backup!!!!!

root@corpdevmariadb03:~# service mysql stop
* Stopping MariaDB database server mysqld [ OK ]

2.importing signing keys

root@corpdevmariadb03:~# sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 0xcbcb082a1bb943db
Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options --no-default-keyring --secret-keyring /tmp/tmp.8XWteckxjY --trustdb-name /etc/apt/trustdb.gpg --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --recv-keys --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 0xcbcb082a1bb943db
gpg: requesting key 1BB943DB from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com
gpg: key 1BB943DB: public key "MariaDB Package Signing Key " imported
gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: imported: 1

3.Add MariaDB to your sources.list

root@corpdevmariadb03:~# sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
